These illustrations of kids wearing gas masks are gonna be used in my whole campaign instead of using actual pictures

  1. Carolina you have so much potential but I am unable to tap into the way you work and what you wanted to get from the class.
This was a great opportunity to really utilize you skills as an illustrator, graphic designer or ? Your idea was very slow to come to fruition, this happened with the palettas. It is very difficult to discuss you ideas when you haven’t done your homework and have ideas and roughs that can be presented. If you pushed yourself just a little, then perhaps you could have moved through and transformed your ideas. There was simply not enough work and it was badly presented.
    1. Magazine advertisement – Upon presentation it was too small.
What magazine was it going into?
What size should it have been? – examples should have been sited so the size determined.
All part of advertising - not well thought about, where would the advertisement be placed.
Why is the retro girl larger than the magazine advertisement?
    2. REFRIGERATOR MAGNETS; How would people get them?
They are awfully big, perhaps too big to go through the mail – again not well thought through!
Could they have been distributed at a grocery store – every week you could receive another part of the clothing?
This is only the beginning idea and the ideas of what could have been created such as an educational information package for the neighborhood.
    3. BANNERS; These are very dated drawings – they come from the 50’s - so this we are not talking about contemporary images, yet this could have been used as a way of connecting to other bombing experiences ( atomic bomb) – using the idea of retro and then translating it into contemporary would have been a better solution.YOU REALLY NEED TO WORK ON YOUR TYPE!
    4. SHOPPING BAGS again this is a good idea but not presented properly - just flat diagrammatic images and the bag images could have even held the package of information for the community.
IDEA / Slogan: why did you use the dated images of the children? Informing the community in the area of a nuclear plant would have been great – did you actually visit a local one in Southern California – as we suggested. I thought that was why you weren’t in class.
Why did you use the colors
